The Olajide Esan Liberational Movement (OELM) is a people-powered platform committed to empowerment, freedom, prosperity, good governance, equality, and total liberation from all forms of oppression, including neocolonial legacies, systemic subjugation, elite capture, and detrimental societal ideals. Core Objective At its heart, OELM believes that the core principle of governance is to serve and defend the masses. Power truly belongs to the people. The movement’s primary objective is to restore good governance through inclusiveness, unwavering accountability, transparency, and bold transformative action that empowers every Osun citizen, protects their rights, and dismantles systems that prioritize privilege over service and silence over participation.
Key Objectives of the Movement.
- Intellectual Enlightenment and Mental Liberation Enlighten the masses on the root causes of oppression and equip them with the knowledge and courage to break free from mental slavery, poverty consciousness, and harmful ideals. This transformation of the mind serves as the compass for purpose-driven lives, great human personality, and resourceful living — far more foundational than mere financial aid.
- Liberation from Systemic Oppression and Neocolonial Structures Fight “systemic slavery,” monetized “money-bag” politics, youth exclusion, and dependency. OELM seeks to return power to the people by rejecting elite capture and foreign-influenced systems, enabling Nigerians and Africans to live their God-given purposes as self-reliant, innovative, and prosperous societies.
- Restore Transparent, Accountable, and Inclusive Governance Implement practical reforms such as: A Comprehensive Citizens’ Database for fair benefit distribution and fraud prevention. A real-time Transparent Public Finance Website accessible to all citizens. A Ministry of Citizens’ Rights to protect workers, defend the vulnerable, and correct injustices. Strengthened roles for traditional rulers and expanded community forums for genuine participation. The goal is governance that answers directly to the people.
- Drive Shared Economic Prosperity and Resourcefulness Turn Osun’s natural resources (fertile land, gold, youth talent) into engines of wealth creation through: Agricultural clusters and free internal trade. Digital economy, tech hubs, skills training (coding, mechanics, etc.). Responsible mining that benefits Osun people first. Ending unemployment, food insecurity, and intergenerational poverty.
- Social Enhancement and Holistic Human Development Liberate minds and bodies through African-rooted education and healthcare, cultural pride (Omoluabi values and festivals), safe community spaces, technology-driven security, and interfaith harmony. Special focus on youth empowerment, workers’ welfare, and dignity for elders (including dedicating the Governor’s salary to senior citizens’ feeding support).
- Build Generational Infrastructure and Sustainable Progress Deliver modern infrastructure, manufacturing, and institutions that connect communities, foster industry, and create irreversible progress — positioning Osun as a model for Nigeria and Africa.
- Foster Collective Action and Pan-African Inspiration Mobilize citizens across more than 4,000 communities in Osun for political participation, unity, and transformative programs. OELM serves as a vehicle for “Irapada” (redemption and liberation), inspiring broader national and continental awakening.
In summary, OELM’s objectives form a comprehensive covenant with the people — not empty promises, but a bold roadmap to mental, economic, social, and political liberation. It equips Osun citizens (and by extension Nigerians and Africans) to move from dependency and subjugation to purpose-driven, resourceful, and dignified lives where every child starts with opportunity and no one is left behind.
